Remote Learning Provision: Information for Parents

Our Remote Learning policy sets out the expectations of the school to deliver a remote education where national or local restrictions require entire cohorts (or bubbles) to remain at home. It also includes information relating to individual incidents of pupil isolation relating to coronavirus.

All remote learning can be accessed via Class Dojo .

Children in Reception Giraffe Class will be provided with videos and activities for the different areas of the EYFS curriculum, including daily phonics lessons.  Children in Year 1 Zebra Class and Year 2 Chameleon Class will have lessons and/or be set work in English, Maths, Phonics, Reading and one foundation or RE lesson each day totalling an average of 3 hours per day. Children in Y3 Gazelle Class, Year 4 Panda Class, Year 5 Tiger Class and Year 6 Lion Class will have lessons and/or be set work in English, Maths, Reading, Spelling practise and one foundation or RE lesson each day totalling an average of 4 hours per day. We will continue to promote wellbeing and subject themed weeks as we do with in-school learning.

Any pupils without a device (these can be applied for at school via office@st-edmunds-pri.wilts.sch.uk) or without internet access, can request paper-based learning from their class teacher via their class email. Please get in touch as soon as possible if you are experiencing any difficulties accessing the online learning. We are always happy to help!

Parent Feedback January 2021

'I would like to say a huge thank you for all the hard work the team at St Ed's are doing in these very difficult circumstances.'

'It has made a massive difference having the teachers presenting lessons and they also need less involvement from a parent than online resources...I know this must be a challenge for the teachers so I am massively grateful for them taking the time to produce these lessons.'

'I am in awe of teachers and school staff everywhere. These are extremely challenging times and we appreciate all the hard work the school puts in keeping everyone safe, happy AND educated.'

'My children have loved being able to 'hand in' their work and receive feedback from their teachers. This has made a massive difference to motivation, they are keener to complete work for their teachers than if they think it is me marking it! They also loved the virutal class meetings. thank you for all the ongoing hard work, we are so grateful.'

'Thanks for contacting parents to ask them to provide their feedback.'

'Thank you for all the teachers/staff/school for everything that they are doing for the children during this time.'

'The live interaction with the teachers and classmates have made a huge difference.'
