Welcome to our school's website

Saint Edmund's School has been delighted to be able to open from June 2nd 2020 to children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 in addition to those pupils already attending the keyworker and vulnerable children group.

It has been wonderful to see the children return to school and to take all the changes that have been put in place in their stride. They have been busy deciding on names for their bubble groups and finding ways to be with their friends in a socially distanced way. We are very proud of them all and delighted to hear that they have settled in to the 'new normal' with such enthusiasm and care. Below are examples of the messages received from some of our parents in the first week of term.

Pupil - Year 6

J has just returned home from his first day back with you. He was so happy, absolutely full of it all and told me he had had a lovely time!

Pupil - Year 1

She returned on Tuesday and had a lovely day and didn't stop talking about her day all night and can't wait to be back again next week, so thank you to everyone involved.

We have not forgotten the children who are not yet able to come back to school. All of our Saint Edmund's family are in our thoughts and prayers until we get back together again in school. Until then, home learning will continue to be on your class page. Other useful websites are abailable under the Learning tab - Curriculum - Home learning.

A very warm welcome to Saint Edmund's Catholic Primary School

Our Catholic Primary School is situated in the town of Calne, in the County of Wiltshire in South West England.  It was built in 1971 to serve the local population of the town and surrounding villages, and the nearby Royal Air Force Station at Lyneham.

We are very proud of our school, which is a loving and welcoming community that provides a nurturing and healthy environment for all.  As a Catholic school, we welcome children of all faiths and beliefs who are ready to embrace our mission statement and values.  We aim to educate the whole child and help our pupils to be kind and responsible members of the community.

We are closely linked to our community through our parents and by our relationship with Saint Edmund’s Parish Church on Oxford Road in Calne.

If you are a prospective parent and want to know more about the school, please feel free to contact the school office to arrange a visit so that you can learn more about Saint Edmund's and what makes it such a special place.

Mrs Moore
