Saint Edmunds Catholic Primary School

Every week we come together as a school family to worship together.  At 9.00am every Monday, we celebrate the Gospel and reflect on how we can live as Jesus taught us to. On Wednesday the school comes together to worship through song. The children learn modern and traditional songs which then become part of the school's prayer life. We are lucky to be joined every Thursday afternoon by Open the Book who share a bible story with the whole school through drama and prayer. Children volunteer to take part in the drama and everyone engages in the worship. Every Friday afternoon we come together as a whole school to celebrate our achievements that week and give thanks to God. During the week, every child partakes in class worship. We have a small prayer space in every classroom to encourage private and personal prayer alongside our classroom daily prayers. The children are encouraged to take an active part on the delivery of collective worship, starting by making choices over what is on the reflection spaces and the music, building to leading worship across the whole school through reconciliation liturgies and special feasts.

We are very fortunate to have Fr Vincent celebrate Mass with us and join us for celebrations and worship in school. Classes and Key Stages attend Mass at Saint Edmund's Church in Calne throughout the year.
