Worship

Worship at School
Every week we come together as a school family, as a class and as a key stage to worship together. At 9.20am every Monday, we celebrate the Gospel and reflect on how we can live as Jesus taught us to. Every Friday afternoon we come together as a whole school to celebrate our achievements that week and give thanks to God. During the week, every child partakes in class worship and key stage worship. We have a small prayer space in every classroom to encourage private and personal prayer alongside our classroom daily prayers. The children are encouraged to take an active part on the delivery of collective worship, starting by making choices over what is on the reflection spaces and the music, building to leading worship across the whole school through reconciliation liturgies and special feasts.
We are very fortunate to have Fr Vincent celebrate Mass with us and join us for celebrations and worship in school, including on Ash Wednesday. We are planning to hold our Lenten reflection in term 4 with individual reconciliation with Fr Vincent afterwards. We will have Stations of the Cross around our playground for families and classes to access and our Year 3 and 4 classes are working on an Easter reflection to share with the school community.
Worship at Home
Worship at home is vital for strengthening our own and our children’s relationship with God. We have some links below that we recommend to support family worship.

Worship at Church
We aim to celebrate whole school Masses in Church as often as we can throughout the year. Alternatively, we invite Fr Vincent into school to celebrate Mass, either virtually or in person. Mass times can be found on the parish website, where you will also be able to access up to date information on public worship regarding the most current guidance. https://www.saintedmundscalne.org.uk/
