Lent

Capture

This year we have started celebrating Lent with some families learning from home and others learning in school. Although we are not always able to physically be together, we are always united in our school community. Ash Wednesday began this season of reflection and reconciliation for us, which will continue through to Holy Week at the end of term. It is a time to focus on alms giving (charitable work and helping others), prayer and fasting.

During Lent we think of ways we can strengthen and deepen our relationship with God. Bishop Declan invites each of us to partake in with ‘Dare to Dream’  with weekly videos and reflections as we look ahead with hope. Our Diocese have also inspired us with Lenten projects taking place in schools, click here for more information.

Our Chaplaincy team are busy preparing recorded reflections for classes to use in school and we have the Station of the Cross up around our playground and quiet area for families and children to use. Our Year 3 and 4 pupils are working on an Easter reflection to share with us at the end of term. You can also watch Stations of the Cross live streamed from Saint Gregory’s Parish, Cheltenham at 5pm every Sunday in Lent.

You can also find some family friendly Lenten reflections at Missio and Cafod
