In November, our 8 leaders of faith were commisssioned by Bishop Declan in a special service at Clifton Cathedral. We were able to meet other chaplaincy teams from across our diocese and share our plans and hopes for the 'Year of Communion'.

Advent Retreat Day

We finished term 2 with a whole school retreat day where children spent the day in their house groups and took part in four different acitivites around the school. The themes for these activities were journeys, gifts, waiting and light. We made Christmas cards for the sick, the elderly and parishioners, as well as creating gifts for our loved ones. Children had the opportunity to reflect and pause during this busy time to remember the true meaning of the season.

Fundraising for Apostleship of the Sea (AoS)

At the commissioning service at Clifton Cathedral, Bishop Declan asked us to raise money to support 'The Apostleship of the Sea' (AoS) charity. This charity works hard to provide support for all seafarers regardless of belief, nationality or race. Our Leaders of Faith worked together to organise a fundraising day for this special cause. They led a whole school assembly on Monday 27th January to raise awareness of AoS and launch thier appeal for donations. Together we organised a sea-themed non-uniform day and cake sale on Friday 31st January, asking for donations of small change and cakes to sell. Thanks to your donations, we raised over £232 for The Apostleship of the Sea. More details of the incredible work they do can be found here.
